Enter the room quietly
Look at the board.
You will see instructions, or clues to the days project there along with the learning targets and goals.
If it’s a new lesson, show me you are ready to listen. Questions will be answered after I explain what we are up to that day. Interruptions will not be acknowledged.
If it is a work day, find you folder and sketchbook and continue work.
If you finish and there is still time left in class
1) fill out a grade sheet
2) Open your sketchbook
- Do a mini lesson
- Finish old work
- Or free draw if you are caught up on everything
If you need me, raise your hand and I will come to you.

Visual Arts Measurement Topics
Grades K-5
Materials:
K: Identify various 2D art media. (such as paint, glue, crayons, oil pastels, etc.)
1: Demonstrate motor skills in cutting along with other 2D media (such as painting, gluing, etc.)
2: Properly hold and use drawing tools. (crayons, chalk, markers)
3-5: Demonstrate motor skills with a variety of media and techniques to create imagery from observation and imagination.
*3-5: Understand the outcome of basic material and tools use to make a work of art. (already in educate)
Elements of Art:
K: Identify basic types of line. (such as zig zag, straight, dotted, etc.)
K: Identify basic shapes. (square, triangle, rectangle, circle, oval)
1: Demonstrate the use of basic types of line in their artwork.
1: Demonstrate the use of basic shapes in their artwork.
2: Identify the primary colors.
2: Create the secondary colors from the primary colors.
3-5:
Produce visual or implied textures in a 2D or 3D work of art.
Recognize and use line to create a variety of patterns, designs, textures, and shapes.
Recognize the difference between shape and form.
Recognize and create tertiary colors.
Identify and use warm and cool colors.
Create a 2D or 3D design using positive and negative space.
Examine and create the illusion of space. (such as depth, ariel perspective, one point perspective)
3D:
K-2: Can identify and manipulate 3D materials.
*3-5: Is skilled at making 3D forms of art. (already in educate)
Exhibition:
*3-5: Understands the importance of displaying art for public view and exhibition. (already in educate)
